“For me everything disintegrated into parts, those parts again into parts; no longer would anything let itself be encompassed by one idea. Single words floated round me; they congealed into eyes which stared at me and into which I was forced to stare back-whirlpools which gave me vertigo and, reeling incessantly, led into the void.”
(Hugo von Hofmannsthal, The Letter of Lord Chandos)
The Call
The Portuguese Atelier Ghostbirds invites artists, makers, and creative souls everywhere to participate in a mail art exhibition under the motto “Fragments of what makes us alive.” They are looking for images, words, or flat objects that light up your world — and help them cover their gallery walls with the simple joys and profound treasures of life.
Show them the people, places, memories, and dreams that give you energy and meaning. What everyday fragments make you feel most alive?
