Possible Futures

The 2084 Imagined Futures from the South Program is an international initiative to occupy the future of Latin American cities. Among the participating institutions are Afroresistance (New York), Collectivo Artearte (Bogotá), Heroínas Peruanas, Freie Universität Berlin, Manzana de las Luces Museum (Buenos Aires) and The New School / Observatory on Latin America (New York).

They called on artists worldwide to send visual poetry from the year 2084 to present.

They explicitly asked for works in black and white with grayscale; maybe they were not too optimistic about the future. As you can see, Gerald Jatzek’s work is neither.
